When I purchased Battleground, this is what I was looking for. This game is great. It allows you to customize your team and fight another player. Think of it as a strategy game with a very light wargame background. My SO even plays it with me. The only bad thing I can say about this game is that the board that ships with the two originals is just a piece of folded up paper; it is the worst "board" I have ever seen for a game. You can buy a real board from the publisher's website for $10.

Bought the master set and after a few plays went out and bought everything else. Very enjoyable game with tons of options by using reenforcement decks.

Cool tactical card game. Sort of reminds me of a RTS game, because of the way you summon units at your structures.

This game caught my interest back in the day, as a card based skirmish game seemed like a good way to break into the genre without the overhead of having to paint minis and associating with wargaming grognards. The randomness was just too high for my tastes, and the game helped me discover my hate for dice-based combat systems. Still keen to give the new edition a try.

Started on the app and bought the board games. With over 200 plays in just a few months, I don't see this one getting old anytime soon.
