Thought it would just be a fantasy TI:3, but it has elements that remind me of A Game of Thrones & Warrior Knights as well. Very nice...

My favorite strategy war game

Feels very Twilight-Imperium-y to me, but since I really like that one that isn't a bad thing. The heroes and questing were an interesting side-game that turned out to be very important, as a possible source of additional Runes or other valuable reward cards. It was nice to see combat resolved with something other than dice.

Bit heavy on micromanagement, but otherwise good.

Hard to play

it's a grand strategy take on WarCraft III, only with demons instead of orcs. And instead of trying to simply destroy everyone else's base, you have to find the dragonballs before the other players do (6 of them anyway). I'm not really familiar with the setting, but it seems like your normal high fantasy fare, with every hexagonal acre of land having either a dungeon, a dragon, or a town of evil sorcerers on it.

I think I would like it more if heroes interacted more with armies. And if the event/combat deck didn't make me feel like I should be card counting.

Good game, a bit fiddly due to the removal of dice and replacing with resolution cards (which almost always slow down a system). Seemed like a more streamlined fantasy version of TI3 and works quite well (and at a quicker pace), but will have to give it more plays to find out.
