Boots on the Ground

The concept is certainly novel and I like the ability to play solo against an artificial intelligence, two-player/competitive, two-player competitive/coop or even 3-player/competitive.

The rules are short and easy and make a lot of sense. I do wish they were fleshed out a little more, which is a common complaint of this game, but I think common sense will fill in most of the ambiguities. It does suffer some in the ways of realism, but it's not trying to be that kind of game. The goal is easy, fast, and fun and I think it succeeds.

Update: In the end, it felt incomplete. Everything about it is good except for the game play itself. Traded.

Theme is good. But the components and game play don’t exactly bring out that flavour much. The slight diversity of roles and team activation does give a good feel for such combat. But the standard dice rolling mechanics works for some basics but makes the sniper almost useless. The graphics and cards components are not the TOP notch. But it’s functional. The way insurgents pop up from windows and doors are a good way to limit and control game play but feels not right in certain circumstances. Arguably point of view. The random vehicle covers and bombs and such are ok. Though all scenarios will have vehicles and stuff on the same spot. Overall a good effort. A few steps above platoon. Would have been better with better graphics and more in-depth work on it.

It looks like a great unfinished project (a 4) . With some house rules for AI provides you with enough thrilling and action.

Waste of money and time. I really enjoy tactical combat games. And I was looking forward for a good and easy modern warfare design. Well, this one is easy but not good at all.

A flop.

I found this rather enjoyable. It's not perfect- the rules are pretty rough in some places, but I feel like this is a game where, after a few plays, you'll get a really good feel for how to run your squad, and get the most out of them, and it would be a very enjoyable experience.
