Having an extra round and allowing the purchase of bonus victory point tiles is a nice addition. Not enough to boost the rating over the base game, but this is a good expansion to have on tap for something just a touch meatier.

I find this expansion a mixed bag. The three new start tiles add some welcome variation. The additional supply round the D tiles bring forces a greater focus on feeding your people. Consecutive supply rounds in the final two turns of play and at the end of the game can be quite brutal. With four or more players, I think it is almost inevitable that someone will lose out in the food supply contest - and lose the game badly. The end game bonuses that three of the D tiles offer do add something. The corrected earthquake tile is nice to have.

I like the new strategic elements the D-tiles add. EDIT: It's starting to look that the D-tiles are not that balanced. The game is better without this expansion.

Lengthens the game to a 9th round, and also adds in some interesting new Civilization and D-tiles.

I like the extra round and the extra tiles.
