Not sure yet whether this is dull and repetitive or has hidden depths. My head tells me the former but I'll give it more chance as feld is my favourite designer at the moment

A nice game with simple but clever mechanics.

Enjoyable, fun. The rating might even increase to a 9 if I'd get to play this more and figure out if it's too light.

LIKE: A simple game, but the mechanisms are interesting and stand out. Limited use of cards in the auctions is tense and tactical. The rhythm of choosing the selling and buying actions were well designed.

DISLIKE: Dry theme: traders in the medieval times. I feel this game is only good at 4,5 players, especially since the sell actions are more plentiful at lower player counts, therefore easier to obtain. To remedy this, the bidding tiles should be different at different player counts (I'm guessing).

OVERALL: I was surprised that this is a pretty good auction game, and flowed smoothly. If it would get an theme update, I think it would be a great gateway game.

A slightly better than average Euro bid and build game. Lots of things going on and enough to make you think but not too dull with it, even though it is very dry. I'd sooner play something like Notre Dame, though.
