Nice at first, but feels empty after a while.
EXPANSION: USA 1910
Not very exciting, but strangely addictive trying to complete those routes. Last game I played I was clearly leading and sabotaged myself comprehensively taking 2 more tickets. Doh!
Scales well 2-5 players, beautifully produced, great introductory game. A bit of luck around the ticket draw but this is fine for this length and weight of game (light-middle). An essential purchase for anyone who plays with casual gamers or for serious gamers who occasionally like something lighter. The Europe map provides some variety and the ticket distribution is an improvement but the rest of the new rules detract from the game.
Blocking isn't fun for me in this game, so now it's kinda autopilot of drawing for the first half, then laying down.
I like it
Rodger, Carol and various persons have played this.
Fun, lighthearted game for 4-5 players. Good flow, decent strategy. Hits a strange note between strategy and luck. For the more part, strategy can win you the game. That is, unless you get the short routes... Or you are cut off...
Anyway, that's why it's best for non-gamers and certainly worth a try for gamers too.
Old classic is still good. From the series I have played, it's least Ticket to Ride that I like. It's great gateway game, but after a few plays, it doesn't have much of mechanics and you might want something more. I prefer Europe, or something significant expansion (maybe like United Kingdom & Pennsylvania).
