Are You Afraid of the Dark?

All time favorite game, easy to play with new people and still fun for veteran players.

I found it boring and very dependent on dice rolling, with little room for strategy. The Pit mechanic does add an element of surprise that can change the outcome of the game unexpectedly. Overall I prefer games that allow you to have more control over your outcome, aside from simply rolling dice.

Fun game for non gamers wanting to just jump into a quick game to kill time.

Purely nostalgic as I played this when I was younger. About the game play itself; in all honesty it's pretty bad. Roll a die (and keep rolling if you feel lucky) for movement until you get to a story space(or nowhere if you get a black star). Once there roll untill you're numb (but only once per turn) so your result is higher than the stat value listed and gain the value listed. Do this for all six stats so they are at six or more and be the first back to camp to win. Tada!

Rules set is very vague. We had to make up house rules even to play through a game. I still had fun with it though.

Have not played in a long time.
