Rating based on - 5+ plays, 2 player Trains: Gen Con 2014 is a set of two 2-3 player maps for Trains that consist of Texas USA and Saitama Japan.
Trains is a game that always has very pretty maps whether in the base game or the multitude of expansions. This Gen Con map available as a free Print & Play file from the AEG website is no exception, and of all the maps for Trains that I've played (Tokyo, Osaka, Texas, Saitama, China, Bay Area, Europe, Italy, California, Gen Con 2013) I think that the Saitama one is the best for 2 players and also the most interesting and the most fun. It has designated starting spots for players which means that if you have a particularly avoidant player like my gaming partner you can still get some interaction out of the game. Also, every single spot has a feature so you have to pay everywhere to lay rails. Awesome! Definitely worth making (as it's only available as Print & Play) if you play Trains at the lower player counts. Trains and I don't get along though, and this map is an unfortunate casualty.
