A very well put together area control game. Being a good strategist is helpful in this game, but will not guarantee a win.

See Wallenstein (Second Edition / Big Box).

• Shogun has better artwork (by Michael Menzel)
• Two-sided map (main board)
• More compact game box than Wallenstein (still big)

• Narrow map allows more turtling in Shogun (A-side)

Played Tim's copy 4 handed and it was hilarious - we had two bad winters with insufficient rice and loads of provinces went into revolt. Probably not representative of how the game usually plays but it was great fun
