Very fun game to play. Very detailed. Not a game that you will play too quickly. Some chart lookups but once you get some areas memorized it flows better. I like the batter-pitcher interaction. Range plays were good too as you can almost picture a good fielder robbing a base hit away from a batter.
Good game with some interesting and unique qualities. I do not care for the use of fast action cards and dice in the game and the rule book could use some refining but overall a very nice game for anyone that likes baseball. The big turn off is that the game has gone through way too many iterations in the short time it has been made commercially available. There are three completely different versions of the game and within the first two there are several changes/tweaks. This is a classic example where a game designer should have spent more time play testing and perfecting the game before selling it and having purchasers basically do the play testing and suggesting improvements. It leaves me liking the uniqueness of the game but frustrated as to what is the actual finished product? UPDATE: After having tried the other two versions I recently purchased the component parts for the Easy Play Version. Much smoother play while retaining a lot of detail. Highly recommended!
The pitcher-batter interaction is totally unique, and is the one element to this game that makes it stand out from any other of it's ilk. BUT, the feel and flow of gameplay is hampered, by the constant use of flip cards for the resolution of many hit results. The baserunning (runners are only rated A, B, and C) and the way in which sacrifice bunting is handled, are both too generic. Fielding ratings on card sets are questionable. All in all, a very good product with super customer service, but not my favourite baseball board game.
Fantastic game
to rich and fiddley for me. Nice effort.
