The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Each game is short. You can play multiple games and not get stuck for hours on one game. Being a combination of skill and chance makes it a fun, interesting game.

The element of luck allows for beginners to win, but the strategic possibilities keep skilled players engaged. The more I play, the more creative my strategies get. It makes me feel anciently wise.

Capere is easy to learn, plays quickly, and is fun. It replays very well and doesn't get stale, allowing for many games in a session. The components are well done and will last for many years of play. Good for the whole family.

A nice intro abstract for all ages. It expands beyond the simplicity of checkers by including a multi-faceted strategy system. Do you capture or plunder? Do I draw to move or use the special abilities I already drew? A good game to bring someone into abstract strategy without a too complicated or intimidating system.
