Pretty fun for the family but lots of shuffling cards and lots of downtime from AP and long turns in later rounds. It really was a revolutionary game design, trying to deduce the interactions between each set of cards is a fun challenge, sometimes though the combinations are pretty bad and can create a stale experience, the recommended sets that come in the rules are pretty balanced and fun though. This is probably one of those games that I shouldn't trade or sell in the future.

Before games had deck-building, deck-building was a game.

A beautifully distilled experience, remaining my favourite deckbuilder despite being the one that started off the craze. The base set alone is enough to entertain you for countless games, but there are a ton of new ideas explored in its plethora of expansions. I choose to play with Hinterlands, Renaissance, Intrigue and Seaside for some added flair without too much additional complexity - its purity is its charm.
