It took me a while to grasp the intention of the module. Maybe because I didn’t have a lot of experience with the L’n’L system in general.

Anyway, after several attempts I finally saw the light and everything clicked in my head (for the good reasons) and finally started to make good use of this tool.

Because this is that: a tool which will give you the opportunity to delegate a lot of decisions so you can enjoy playing against an opponent anytime you want.

It has a few rough edges and gray areas but, once you accept that you are free to enjoy he ride.

Ok system with flexibility to select a move for individual units or unit formations. Works well with the WaW 85 system.

Awaiting shipment. These are rules based on the Conflict of Heroes solo system for one of its expansions. I was going to get it, but decided that Lock 'n Loads subsequent purchase of that system probably facilitated small improvements.

Lock 'n Load's version is definitely more flexible, as it can be used with all of their tactical series of games.

Update: got it and learning how to play...

The biggest attraction about these Lock 'n Load Tactical games to me is this solo expansion. I don't have hardly any gaming partners as it is with my more digestible games. So I will likely never have any for this game, except for my brother. So the solo expansion was super important. Now LnL Tactical games appeal to me so much that I could see myself playing both sides, the traditional solo mode for wargamers. I do that for Dice Masters, sometimes, and I love it! Playing these games that way would be even better. But I still prefer to play just one side because I find suspense and fun build to even higher levels for me. I have no problem with having to make a judgment call for the AI from time to time. That's to be expected anyway to make the games even more competitive. I would house rule that aspect of the solo game anyway.

Update: played this thing and it was great, even though I probably wasn't playing it right. Still learning it, but it's pretty easy.
