These Polish games by Taktyka i Strategia are quite well done, with excellent production values for their price. Shipping is reasonable. The games look good and play well, and any rules questions are generally responded to in a timely fashion. More wargamers should check them out.
Taktyka Strategia
Review based on one solitaire play through of the Fulford scenario.
Despite a fair amount of dice rolling and working out ratios, I found this to be a straightforward and enjoyable game with some nice touches from a solid Polish company. Despite only having the Polish rules (I am going to request a PDF version of the English rules), I managed to make head and tail of the basics. I did not bother totting up victory points at the end, as on the 11th turn the Vikings had smashed the Anglo-Saxon centre, had most of its troops across the river, and triggered an automatic defeat of the enemy by reaching morale level 3. There was not much left of the Anglo-Saxon forces, who lost approx 3,000 troops to the Vikings 1,600. I am looking forward to trying the other battles, especially Hastings.
Takes a bit of getting used to, but it's the best game on the battle of Hastings that I've played.
Good game. Rules are easy to understand and I like that I got three battles in one game.
Three battles in the box. Nice maps (with some mistakes - lack of map key, crossbow table in Hastings map, etc) and counters. Simple rules, sadly with many mistakes and problems. Fun combat. Game is cheap.
