The Rules have few limitations that can be very frustrating sometimes, so we play with some improvements:
- Start with 2 cards. Play one and draw up to 2. (for more choices of placement)
- Build near existing buildings but when fill an region of flowers for ex. and don't have buildings in other flowers valleys - you can also chose to start a new flower region at your choice, even if you have buildings near borders of other unwanted empty flower fields. (for more speed to build near far away locations and get powers)
- Score "Fishermen", "Miners", "Workers" on the score track immediately not at the end of the game, as cards in Nomads expansions do. (for more strategy and possibility to move a building later and build in the same place again for points.)
- In 2 players play with only 2 map modules (very tense and better scaled) Now the game have the strategical complexity and versatility you ever wanted. Enjoy this fine game!
A lot of deepness on the second view. Just have played 1 vs 1 so far. Multilingual version
Place settlements on different land times to claim points whilst blocking out your neighbors. 2-5 Players, best at 4 or 5 45-60 minute play time Complexity = 2.17/5
The beautiful board evokes a lot of positive feelings for me, probably because it looks a lot like [thing=13]Catan[/thing], so I'm happy to sit down to a game. I quickly lose interest, though, for the same reason I dislike [thing=822][/thing]. There just isn't a real decision to be made about where to place cubes for the one card you have as there is almost always an objectively best and obvious tile to select. Could be much better with a hand of even just two cards.
