The Barons' War: Medieval Skirmish Game

Let me start by saying that this is a very fun game and I would love to rate it an 8 or 9. The action system is very fun and dynamic and the range of units (and equipment, and experience levels) is very nice. However, this is one of the most poorly edited skirmish rulebooks I've read. There are many statements that conflict with each other and diagrams that seem to contradict the rules they're trying to illustrate. But if you're willing to put in some work reading FAQs and clarifying documents by the designers and searching Facebook groups for answers and, in the end, making house rules for a few things and deciding as a group on your "official" interpretation of ambiguous rules, you'll have a blast!

Overall, very well put together and gives a good feel of the period. Would recommend.

Very nice layout, tons of very good ideas. A nice game. But the rules are a bit messy : the morale is not clearly explained, the QRS forgets some important topics. Keep in mind this is a small company, and the game is new, so it has not been reviewed by thousands of players. Anyway, I like it, it has some very clever concepts. I'll prepare my own QRS + maybe some variants on my own.
