Initial Impression: Another Zombicide game! I have to admit that after playing this version of the game, I immediately went home and watched the movie for the first time. Unlike many other viewers, I actually enjoyed it. The game has all the typical Zombicide fare, great sculpted minis, sturdy cardboard boards and cards, plastic slotted player boards. It also incorporates the sound mechanism and lack of doors from Zombicide Undead or Alive. The game includes only 2 abominations, the Queen and Zeus which falls in line with the game's IP. Also included are the main characters from the movie. I've only played one scenario so far but it was a thematic experience and after watching the movie I could immediately pick out the IP tie-ins with various weapons, locations, characters, and such. I'm looking forward to playing the other scenarios.
Love the direction Zombicide is going with one-off titles. First Night of the Living Dead. Now Army of the dead. Great set of Vegas Zombies!
I was curious if Army of the Dead was a typical coupon-cutting and if we would get the same Zombicide only with a different skin. Fortunately, the developers decided to collect all the best mechanics from the previous instalments and throw them into this SnyderVerse.
We get interesting scenarios varied with changing personal objectives. Survivors can equip themselves with different sets of equipment and there's nothing stopping us from running around with a katana and a T.N.T.. On top of this we still have concentrated fire, stressful time pressure and a mini-game to open the safe. It's a bit of a shame that the variety of enemies has been limited, but I do like those bosses and the fact that Zeus has his own spawning zone with special rules. Best of all are the sleeper tokens, which are a great representation of the movie scenes.
Final verdict: Same good Zombicide, but with the best mechanics
Pros Great transfer of the film to the board The best Zombicide mechanics Varied missions with personal objectives Sleepers and Zeus Tons of guns 12 different characters Taco explosions and chases
Cons Low variety of basic zombies No activation tokens for heroes

Loved the move and the game is even better. Some of these rules need to be in Zombicide.
