I love civ building games but found the others too huge for setup and too many intricate rules in order to play. This one plays nice and smooth...and it only encompasses a historical period, not 3000 years, which is a very good thing IMO.

Really cool game with some nice mechanics from the action rondell. My only "gripe" is that it's a looooong game. So it's harder to fit in an evening worth of play.
