Cryptid Forest

The art and theme of this game make me smile. You're a cryptid (think Bigfoot) trying to scare campers at a park (and trying to steal their fire, or marshmallows or something).

It's a 1v1 game with deckbuilding elements, and you've got to decide whether to move your cryptid closer to a fire, or move the game warden closer to your opponent.

Focus too much on the fires and your opponent will cause the warden to take too many pictures of you; focus too much on the warden and your opponent will dance circles around you - collecting fires along the way. Believe me, I lost horribly both ways.

The thing I find interesting about Cryptid Forest is that every game tends to be really close, and despite its whimsical theme the mechanics feel very chess-like.

And if that doesn't make you want play the game, then know that you can literally play as a "Skunk Ape." And I think there are also plans to add Mothman into the mix!
