a bit too long
Game can drag on too long, but it is funny.
I received my first copy of this game last month and have played it loads of times already. The concept is very imaginative — explaining human concepts by only using words that start with the letters listed on the card. The result is hilarious and really puts everyone’s brains to work! It’s so much fun as a group game but also works really well as a two-player game. I also love that the rules are easy and clear, and you can play the game in a non-competitive format and it’s a blast! Highly recommend!!
One thing that I particularly love about this game is that there was a lot of thought put into its design. No piece is wasted. The box that holds the cards is also the board used for the game. The card which holds the player tokens is also meant to be used to separate used vs new cards, and the human concepts are separated from the letter cards. It's also very aesthetically pleasing and the graphic design on the box and instructions is very skillful.
On the side of the box, there are QR codes linking to a Spotify playlist, game timers, and instructions, which has been very convenient for us. The creators of this game clearly went above and beyond, creating a curated playlist to accompany the game, and themed timers for each game mode.
I have played this game countless times and have a great time every time. I've introduced it to friends and family and they always have positive things to say. Bonus points for the fact that you can play it with 2 people.
The concept is simple, though it does take some time to get the hang of playing. When we do play, we are flexible with the rules, since it's meant to be more fun than competitive, but the core is always the same. Humans are trying to get Aliens to guess human concepts. The concepts themselves are fun and the expansion packs really enhance this aspect, adding more challenge to the game and also just making it more fun.
Would recommend!
Base Game VS Not Safe For Aliens
We have played this a few times now and it has been an absolute blast. It's challenging, but my group loved every second of it. Lots of laughs around the table. The whole package is so well designed.
The letter cards make for interesting and sometimes hilarious clue giving, but in the end it's too restrictive and I'd rather just play monikers
