Host Your Own Murder Mystery: On the Night Train

Not a new concept, but the game certainly steers you though an evening that is guaranteed to be fun for all.

I personally found that being the host takes a considerable degree of confidence as guests will be looking to you for guidance. I recommend knowing the solution beforehand so you can steer a bit or subtly emphasize a relevant clue. (In the first attempt, my party of 8 players all missed one aspect and nobody made the correct accusation.)

The game would benefit from "side quests," where points can be earned for discovering other aspects of the story than just the murderer. The challenges are a bit silly and perhaps better just for children; I feel this aspect could be better developed for a point aspect that is relevant to finding additional aspects to the story instead.

Contrarily, my guests did have a lot of fun with the characters, fully in costume, doing voices and acting their roles—even including their character traits to the adjustment (and hilarious confusion!) of others!

All told, lots of fun.
