Shadow Wars

Rating after two 2 player games:The game transports the feeling of a 4x game really well and reminds me in a way of the computer game Heroes of Might and Magic. However, the luck involved with the resource dice can be brutal (especially the event rolls) and the same applies to combat. This can lower the strategic aspect of the game significantly, especially when played only with 2 player. Might improve the rating after another play and with more than 2 players...

                              UPDATE: Played another 2 player game with house rules. Although our house rules are still not ideal, they improve the 2 player game and limit the luck of the dice a little bit. Still looking for better house rules. Increased the rating from 6 to 6.5.

Bits and board could be better. Game play makes this game a real diamond in the rough.
