This is probably one Stonemaier game too far for me. They are very well designed and beautifully produced but they are a little formulaic in that design. You can start to see the same mechanics and design decisions throughout those games. It’s not that they are the same game because each has its own feel but if you strip it right down they have probably been designed and developed in the same way. They do what they set out to do very well but maybe lack that cutting edge. I think Tapestry takes this formulaic approach to the next level. It is not a bad game. In fact it is a well designed one and actually I am quite happy to play it because intellectually it provides an interesting challenge with some tough decisions. But it needs to be less slick, less refined and could do with a few rough edges. And it needs a bit (actually a lot) more attention to it’ theme - never been a Civilisation game
Nice and fun strategy game, but it think it lacks something. Game mechanic allows to choose one of four actions. Many civics and tapestry cards are bad, so it is somehow luck based. Not feeling real civilization game, mostly engine building. Building figures are nice, maybe too nice. I really appreciate Stonemaier Games as good publisher but I expected more from Tapestry, maybe something future expansion helps?
SMC - early delivery Very reminisce of Scythe maybe without as much player interaction. I like it so far!
Tapestry is a civilization building game. Most people disagree about that but it's solid one for me always a fun time I play it.
Mechanically smooth but features overproduced components, pasted-on theme, and the gameplay is really just a chaotic jumble of many uninspired subsystems with very little player interaction. So far par for the course for my experience with Stegmaier games

It would be 7/10 - 8/10 game if it have completely rework of how cards, are draws. otherwise, it has too much luck and leave the game totally depend on what card you get.
Draw, can't prevent this. I suggest make it piles of a different card type. Like one for permanent placement (draw in advance for next 4 rounds) and another for use as instant rewards.
For now, Golden Age is much better choice for lite Civ games
Too much at the random mercy of cards and tiles to rank higher
