Chaos in Carpathia

Played the game once and found it extremely enjoyable.

An easy to learn system with simple rules. Played the game using cards for initiative (models are dealt cards and high card gets to act) enjoyed the goal roll system made for some tense moments and decision making (do I spend fate points?) Seems like a marketing tool for a certain miniatures company. Gameplay is OK but you end up with two lines of monsters/ monster hunters engaging in the usual shoving match. No strategy need apply. The illustrations are nifty, reminiscent of a 1970s Marvel comic book or Warren magazine. No real campaign framework, not even a map of the Carpathian region ( which would have been an easy inclusion). Oddly, although the interior illos. include one of Sherlock Holmes, there are no stats given for detectives of any kind. Which actually makes a sad kind of sense because it's just a shoving match at the end of the night.
