I typically prefer miniature games over card games, but this fills a very interesting middle ground. It is so much easier to to get a quick game of Summoner Wars than other games. Moving cards on the board provides a tactile element that I really enjoy.

The rules are easy to learn but the game contains a lot of depth. There is already a wide variety of factions that provide a significant amount replayability and strategy. No two games are the same and there are multiple strategies that can be employed with the same deck to win. Regular expansions help provide a continued sense of excitement. I haven't even begun to create my own decks, which only adds strategy.

While initially the best strategy seems to turtle with your Summoner, I find myself being more aggressive as I get more comfortable with a faction.

Easy to jump into and teach, but has depth in card usage and asymmetric factions. Great 2 player game.

Like chess, but way more fun! The asymetry is so good, so well balanced, and offers so many different paths to victory.
