Rating based on one play. Rules description was overwhelming but the game wasn't too complicated once we got into it. Strategy wise it felt like we only scratched the surface.

A very solid medium weight euros with 3 apparant strategies (although you probably have to do a litle bit of all of them to be succesful). The first few plays suggested that Cowboys was the dominat of these startegies but more play reveals some hidden depths around both Engineers and Builders - a sign of a well designed game. The expansion probably supports these two stratgies more and adds some more decisions to a very good game

Fine euro game with its expansion.

It is quite a game. Rather difficult to teach. Great depth and choices. The mechanics all fit, but I just can't help but think that the game could do with a few less to make it a bit less complex and shave some time off. Some probably like that it is so crunchy, and I do too, but it could be just as good of a game at 45 minutes less with a couple fewer options.

Preliminary rating, but one that I expect to stick. Awesome crunchy puzzle, fittingly the best 'new to me' game of its kind since Mombasa.
