Based on 1 play. I really enjoyed the game. The multiple routes to victory seem to work really well and I understood the game pretty much after only 2 turns - both sure-fire winners for a game to me. It took a while to play though (about 2.5 hours) for 5 of us.

Nothing original but all the mechanisms blend together superbly and there appear to be 3 or 4 balanced strategies to adopt (although initial games suggest the economic route is the better one). There is a bit of luck involved in the discovery element but nothing that is not in keeping with the theme. The components aren't as good as they could be but this is nitpicking. Great theme, great mechanics, great tensions, great fun.

Perfectly balanced, a lot of strategic options available to win, beautiful materials. It seems to be two different games (worker placement and area control) both incredibly well integrated into one outstanding game. A lot of fun, thinking and choices. It deserves a place in every eurogamer top ten!

Really enjoyed this the one time I played - my first exposure to worker placement. Would love to play again.

After after several plays this is a very good game. Could of used more silver coins as we were making change all the time, the card stock for the box is way too thin for a box of this size which could of been smaller to start. Rules are well written and quite clear. The players that I played it with all gave it a big thumbs up along with myself. Always look forward to playing this game. A top 25 game for sure.

I love this game, and it seems like one that new players enjoy as well. There are a lot of roads to victory, which I appreciate in any game. A great worker placement/auction style game.
